Youth & Government Teaches Kids the Principles of Democratic Society

The Youth & Government program allows high school students to serve in model governments at the local, state, national, and international levels.

The program program currently operates in 38 states and Washington, DC. The organization was created in 1938 "help create the next generation of thoughtful, committed and active citizens" by teaching them the "principles of a democratic society." The premise is that "leaders are developed by doing.

 

Your donation will help send kids to Washington DC and Olympia to learn how democracy works

This February, the Walla Walla delegation of Youth & Government will send a group of kids to Washington DC to meet with our representatives, visit the Capitol, visit the White House and more. This trip will happen because of your support!

In May, an even larger delegation of Walla Walla kids will visit the Washington State Capitol in Olympia for several days to take part in a mock legislative session.
